Join Parijata Performance Projects for a work-in-progress showing of sections of O Ghostly Ancestor, our participatory performance / community ritual, blending experimental theater; contemporary, Indian classical, and circle dance; and martial art. We honor the gifts of our ancestors, release what we no longer need, and deepen our connection with Earth and community.

We are hosted by the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA), an uptown arts center in Washington Heights, NYC, where Parijat is a grantee. NoMAA is located in the historic United Palace building, and we’ll be in NoMAA Studio 4. Our performance will include the opportunity to honor your ancestors and releasing what you no longer need, as well as participatory circle dance.

O Ghostly Ancestor is made possible by MAP Fund, NY State Council on the Arts Choreography Commission, LMCC Creative Engagement with DCLA, Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ), and Howard Gilman Foundation; Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance with New York Presbyterian and Hispanic Federation), and City Parks Foundation.
FREE RSVP!
NOTE: RSVP required. Your name will be given to United Palace security. Also note, you’ll have to go through building security before entering the NoMAA spaces.
